Björk book special > Description

A project by Björk
Edited and designed at M/M <Paris>

The book is edited and designed by M/M, the Paris based duo who are increasingly collaborating with Björk. Along with photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, M/M have also created the artwork for Bjork’s new album Vespertine and directed the video for Hidden Place, the first single from the album. The photograph on the cover of the book is an early test shot for the video.

As well as working with Björk, M/M <Paris> are closely associated with Yohji Yamamoto and Balenciaga and are frequently featured in Visionaire Magazine.

The book, 192 pages with a fabric cover, is divided into three sections:

- A series of photographs of Björk

- Words including an interview by Björk with her
long time inspirational hero Sir David Attenborough.

- Four pages for Björk: In which she asked her closest collaborators to contribute four pages.  The contributors were simply told the layout (single page, double spread, single page) and size and asked to create something from their world. The result is an enormously eclectic collection of offerings-indicative of the pool of talent that unites to create one public persona.
