You Only Live Twice
1967 - UK, Director - Lewis Gilbert
You Only Live Twice stars Sean Connery as James Bond in a battle to save the world,
fighting against the supreme evil of SPECTRE operative Ernst Stavro Blofeld, by Donald
Pleasance. The story has something to do with capturing Russian and American crafts, but
that hardly matters, does it? Co-starring Bernard Lee as "M", Lois Maxwell as
Moneypenny, etc. The original soundtrack album for "You Only Live Twice"
features the title song performed by Nancy Sinatra.
In 1997, the Bond movie "Tomorrow Never
Dies" was scored by David Arnold - known to Björk fans for their haunting
collaboration song "Play Dead".
Later on, he also got the project of making a
celebration-compilation featuring covers of
various James Bond songs - done by artists like Aimee Mann, Leftfield, Iggy Pop,
Pulp and Björk. |

No official reason was given when Björk suddenly decided
to withdraw her contribution - but she later said this about it in a webchat: "I learned the hard way that you should never cover your favorite
tunes because they are good already. Cover bad tunes and make them good"
Lucky for us, a couple of promos hit some radio stations
before it was fully withdrawn, and now a sample FINALLY has surfced - after 3 years!
