And now Ladies and Gentlemen it is time... [01.VIII.00]

Massive response to 'I've seen it all' mp3 with Björk & Thom.

Such a good appetizer for Selmasongs, which will be out in September. And now The MadWebCarpenters have taken it down, as they did not want to drain the song completely.

Happiness all around though. The waiting will somehow be shorter. How can it be shorter? Time is time and time flys or flies, depending on the Meester himself.

Floria & Björk & Webeo in September
[28.VII.00]

A webeo for MTV.com will be created by Björk, director Floria Sigismundi and a digital designer yet unnamed. A webeo is an on-line video as defined by MTV.com. (but ofcourse call it webeo! say the MWC)

The results of this project will launch on the 1st of September on MTV.com. That so happens to be one week or seven days if you prefer, prior to the MTV Awards in NYC, where Björk is nominated for two awards. More information posted as soon as it materialises.

All is full of what you see

The MP3 of The Moment [21.VII.00]

The Mad WebCarpenters of Websense can not wait any longer! They want you to hear this track and here it is.

'I've Seen It All' from the album 'Selmasongs' from the motion picture soundtrack 'Dancer in The Dark'.

'I've Seen It All' features indeed Thom Yorke duetting with Bjrk.

The album Selmasongs will have a world wide release on the 15th of September, so here is the chance to get into the right phase.

For the download of 'I've Seen It All', ooops, you should have clicked the song name, well do it now then!

This is all, for the moment from the Mad WebCarpenters.

You thought you'd seen it all?
[20.VII.00]

So did The MadWebCarpenters. Thought they had seen it all, but they had not.

Sometime
tomorrow on Friday the 21st of July, you will be able to see it all here on the Grapewire.

Like the song goes: 'I heard it through the Grapewire' first.

We could get more cryptic than this. The only solution to this mad gibberish is to check the Grapewire tomorrow Friday 21st of July, for the latest installment of the Grapewire.

So do come back..
.

Björk cancels her appearance with Voices of Europe
[30.VI.00]

Björk has canceled her appearance with the Voices of Europe in August and September.

Björk felt that the original intention of her involvement in the project, along with the increased media frenzy that was anticipated to accompany these dates, her participation was increasingly looking as though it would dwarve the entire project and its original intentions.

Björk was originally due to perform three songs acoustically as part of a two hour performance, but previously she had sung with the Choir at a New Years Special which could be seen during a worldwide liveTV broadcast.

For the full statement from Reykjavik 2000 Cultural Office, go here.

Post the Dancer
[25.V.00]

Life has taken normal shape again after Palm D'Or. Björk has resumed work on her music, but will be traveling around the world to promote and introduce the soundtrack to Dancer In the Dark which is still on schedule for September.

Not much has been seen or written on the making of the music for the film, but here we intend to rectify that a little with this article by David Toop.

For those searching for extensive coverage of Dancer in the Dark is their site, and then there is Lina's special.

Björk has just won the Palm D'Or at Cannes [21.V.00]

Björk has just won the prestigous award Palm D'Or of the Cannes Film Festival for her role as Selma in Dancer in Dark.

Lars Von Trier received Palm D'Or for his picture Dancer in the Dark.

Congratulations to Björk and Lars from the Mad Web Carpenters of Björk's Websense. Congratulations!!!

The flyarazzi has arrived...
[20.V.00]

A small inside insight has been delivered to the Mad Web Carpenters by Meester Fly from the opening night of Dancer in the Dark.
Now we only have to wait for the delivery of the verdict of the jurors of the Cannes film festival which is due tomorrow, Sunday...

La Beauté and the Dancer
[19.V.00]

Polar&PalsAfter the premier of Dancer in the Dark Björk took off to Avignon to complete her work for La Beauté.
This is the French government's official artistic contribution to the Millenium. The curator of the project is Jean de Loisy, he is also the curator of the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.

Bjrk is contributing the music to an installation by Alexander McQueen and Nick Knight, it makes a return to the team who created the "Homogenic" cover image.La Beautr is based in Avignon, one of the European Cities of Culture during the year 2000.

Other artists involved in the project, of which there are many, include designer Philippe Starcke, artist Jeff Koons, David Bowie, director David Lynch, Jean Luc Goddard, designer Hussein Chalayan and many more. Each contributer will be doing an installation featuring their version of beauty. All the installations take place in different venues - churches, houses, factories, clubs and open spaces.

The event will be opened by theFrench president, Jaques Chiraq on Thursday 25th May at the Palais des Papes.

La Beautr opens to the public on Saturday 27th April and will run through until September.

And on the subject of the flyarazzi
promised by Meester Fly, the Mad Web Carpenters, have once again been trying to track him down, as he only delivered one photo of someone holding on to a polarbear with a note saying that his experience should be ready as soon as he has found a way to "de-shake some of the pictures" as they were indeed shaky and shady!!!. The Mad Web Carpenters hope that this means Saturday.

Still shaking...
[18.V.00]

and so should he be, Meester Fly who was whisked away and into Cannes for the premiere of Dancer in the Dark last night! Never before has he been so impressed, and especially by the fashion police who took a dislike to his footwear...
WebSense's Meester Fly turned into a flyarazzi and will hang out his photos to dry tomorrow in a dancing running shaking special...

dazed&confused
Spring is in the Air!! [24.IV.00]

..and you don't really need Meester Fly to tell you so! Some confusion has risen once again around the collaboration between Björk and Thom Yorke of Radiohead. The most interesting and speculative was similiar to: "OhMYGawd! it is not happening!" Why this was proclaimed Meester Fly and his team of web insects never understood. When the only thing they heard on the grapewire was that it was still on, but not yet happened. Things don't happen until they happen, pretty obvious isn't ?! So what can Meester Fly say today! Well, it has happened, (and if it has not happened he will retract this statement), but the act happened in a foreign country, at least foreign to England and Iceland.

Confused? and even Dazed? you will not be, as the mighty Dazed&Confused will hit the shelves, bookshelves in the next few daysorweeks with a brand new issue, and a special dedicated to European movies and indeed an extensive interview with Björk. A tiny glimpse of the images are here on the right but the interview, well, get the magazine.

And to lessen the confusion! Dancer in The Dark will be premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on the 17th of May, but the soundtrack not out until September 25th. More information on The Dancer in the Dark is dead easy at their site!

Wassup! Well the hush!hush! is out [28.III.00]

One of the best kept secrets of Meester Fly is out. Indeed Björk and Thom Yorke of Radiohead are to duet together on one track for the soundtrack album of the Dancer in the Dark film. Meester Fly unable to comment at the moment, so is Björk and Thom! But for those thirsting for a bit more go to nme.com

Oh! No! Not So Quiet !!
[16.II.00]

It has been quiet here on the webfront at the beginning of the year. Though it has been quiet here, it has not been so quiet elsewhere!
Like Meester Fly, his friend Björk has been busy as a bee over the past few months, and fruits of that labour should be emerging in the next few months, indeed not few months but many months to come.

Continuing to explore new frontiers Björk has been working with composer John Tavener who has written a piece for Bjrk entitled "A Prayer for the Heart" that will be performed sometime during the year 2000. John is the UK's most widely acclaimed and respected living composer.

'Dancer in the Dark' will be premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May. The finishing mixing touches are being administered at the moment. Expect a single in June 2000 and the full album release in September 2000. Work has started with first time video directors for the single. Those in the knowing - Meester Fly? - promises some surprises tied to the release of the single and album. (But has Meester Fly seen the movie, and what did it do to him?!)

Sketching and the composing of a brand new album are aswell well underway. The first recordings will take place in the spring, with the album completed before X-mas for an April 2001 release. There might also be the possibility of doing a big tour next year in very intimate venues - keeping it small!! What will not be small though is the concerts planned with the Choir of European Voices in the nine cultural cities of Europe.

The much talked about box set of singles might finally arrive into our mittens in early spring. happyhappyjoyjoy!!!

Contrary to all report, it is of pure pleasure, that Meester Fly can confirm that an island has NOT been bought in Iceland, not by him, the webcarpenters or Björk! Indeed NOT!!!

All is Full of Love Strikes Again
[10.I.00]

News happens fast, and the WebCarpenters of WebSense had not returned to their mobile desks when the first news of the new year hit their desk. (Well hit their desk while they were still well away ). Therefor they - or we - bring you late news of the latest accolade bestowed upon the brilliant All is Full of Love video directed by Chris Cunningham.

All is Full of Love has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of 'Best Short Form Music Video'. Other nominees are: Everything Is Everything by Lauryn Hill, Freak On A Leash by Korn, Back At One by Brian McKnight and Unpretty by TLC.

So now the only thing we need to do is to wait and hope that the sensible choice will be made! Otherwise we have been told that everything is quiet on the northern front, so to speak! Well quiet, not quite, how can it when Björk is around!

If you see this... [31.XII.99]

If you see this, then the Y2K bug has not hit bjork.com or Meester Fly
or it could be that you are seeing this before 00.00 GMT!
Then there is the other possibility...
If you don't see this then the Y2K bug has hit bjork.com and Meester Fly and it could be you are watching this after 00.00 GMT!
This all boils down to the simplest of messages from
Björk

and her team of senseless
WebCarpenters
:

Happy & Prosperous
New Year
2000

If you feel that something in here should be in here, than, that's pretty good isn't it?You can still drop us e-mail and tell us why you like it.

But please don't send us email, asking about tour details, like where to get tickets and about cities not mentioned on the Tour schedule. We don't know any more than you do! (after you read the tour schedule, that is to say)
