Björk,
Meester Fly and the Mad Web Carpenters at WebSense wish you: [31.XII.98]
A Happy New Year, A Prosperous And Exciting 1999 !
And to tie us over the worst and prepare us for the new year here is a transcript of the Chat Session. We can start looking forward to the two concerts at the National Theatre in Reykjavik in January . They sold out in less than 20 minutes, Meester Fly is hard at work trying to show some of the concerts through a special webcast, he will inform us in the next few days.
Around the 15th of January 1999 we will see the Box Sets for Alarm Call and Hunter. We will as well have more news on the upcoming Lars Von Trier movie and Björk's progress report, obviously related to her new instrument!
BadTaste announces two Björk gigs in Reykjavik in January 1999. [23.XII.98]
Fresh from the WebSense chat and straight onto the stage! Björk, Mark Bell and the Icelandic String Octet are set to play the National Theatre, on the 5th and 6th of January 1999. These two concerts are seen to the final instalment of the Homogenic concert series. Meester Fly is trying to get his act together and organise a webcast from the gigs. Nothing confirmed yet, absolutely not. Stay tuned.
This is the invitation to a night out in Reykjavik [20.XII.98]
Meester Fly is dressed in a tuxedo, and sincerely hopes that you are as well! Without further ado! Go ahead join the fun!
What has the bad weather to do with today [20.XII.98]
The Sunday evening and Meester Fly is trying to calm the weather and the volcanic eruption under Vatnajökull. Meester Fly is getting excited and has picked Mr.E up for his DJ session. DMX Krew is hopping along with A.More. The time is 18.15 GMT. The Hexen Hour closes in.
No Plug-Ins are required for the chat!
For the experience of the Live Music from Kaffi Thomsen use RealMediaPlayer.
WebSense & Meester Fly take you to a Björk Chat and a Heartbeat event [18.XII.98]
Next Sunday, 20th of December 1998, a chain of special events will take place in Reykjavík, Iceland. These events have nothing to do with the season. What season you might ask. Well if you don't know now ...
First to kick off is the first ever Björk web chat here @ websense@bjork.com. This should become a regular thang. The event is scheduled for eight o'clock pm (20.00 GMT) on the Sunday evening and will last for an hour before we take off for an evening of music down at Kaffi Thomsen. Heartbeat is a regular club night down at Kaffi Thomsen, and will now be for the first time broadcast live over the Net. So we are really in for a treat!
Heartbeat and The Chat events are in the pipeline and coming over the grapewire.
for more details klikk here & register for a night out to remember!
'Something is Brewing... [17.XII.98]
And it is not the local ale, according to Meester Fly, who refuses to comment until tomorrow!'
BoxSets pre-orders & Bristol small picture [15.XII.98]
Hunter BoxThe first evidence from the Brodsky concert in Bristol has finally landed in the sweaty hands of the webcarpenters of WebSense. Sligthly fuzzy, and a bit out of focus, probably a bit telling of the state of those lucky enough to witness it, or should we just blame our own Meester Fly for an unsteady hand. At least this is an indication of what it looked like.
The Box Sets for Alarm Call and Hunter are now available for pre-ordering from the Teepee. The boxes will be ready on 18th of of January 1999, for the readers of the grapewire@websense. Go on secure yourself a copy.
Hunter & Alarm Call box on in tradition [07.XII.98]
Hunter & Alarm Call will be released in a seperate box set, following the tradition of Bacherolette & Jóga. The box will include the 3 UK format singles and the video.
They will be made available first through the Teepee on 18th of January 1999. Yes indeed 1999. Few weeks later they will be available for general release. Those who have already bought the 3 singles will now for the first time have the option of buying the box and the video especially and seperately to make up a whole set. The initial production run will only be of 5000 units. To secure your copy, either PAL or NTSC, watch this space over the next few days when they will become available for advance ordering.
Brodsky Quartet & Björk in Bristol [07.XII.98]
A monumental concert was held in Bristol on Friday 4th of December where Björk and The Brodsky Quartet played together for the first time in a whole evening of music. They played among others My funny Valentine, It's oh so quiet, Hunter, Jóga and a Burt Bacharach song. Expect to see some visual footage from this evening hopefully this week.
Last Homogenic concert in Cambridge? [30.XI.98]
The last of the scheduled Homogenic concerts will not be the London Palladium gig this last Sunday, but a low profile gig at the Corn Exchange in Cambridge on Wednesday 2nd of December. This concert will be documented on film, for broadcast at a later date. Meester Fly is about town to do his small documentary on the last concert. Tickets are still available when this is written for those in the vicinity.
Alarm Call video rocks your screen!. [13.XI.98]
Alarm Call is hot out of the editing suite, and straight onto the bouncy belly of Meester Fly, who this time around, and just in time, brings us the world premier of this video directed by Alexander McQueen.
Go on, do something fun & exciting tonight or today. Go enjoy this movin' thang. Yep! it is Alarm Call !
Moving Experience. [08.XI.98]
What a moving experience all over! Ever thought why Volumen is called Volumen? Wonder no more as the Grapewire offers the explanation and reason. G! Now is upon us the time of moving things, both Volumen - the video collection -and Shepherd's Bush - the live concert - are due to be released. Both of these items are more than welcome. It will be a moving experience all over!
Alarm Call in da House. [01.XI.98]
The video shoot for Alarm Call is completed with stunts and all, and we should be seeing something in the next few days. But first we have to feast our eyes on the Artwork for the single from the House of MeCo. And for those who want can order Alarm Call now and be the first on the block to get it. By the way unnecessary alarm was raised sometime ago about an artist called something working with an artist called something else. It is not true according to Meester Fly.
Excuses!Excuses!Excuses! [22.X.98]
WebSense has moved house, it has taken the mad webcarpenters longer than they had anticipated. We've been b@d!!! So to speak. Now we intend to do better! Yes, it has taken us one month to dust down, and find Meester Fly. In the next few days we will bring you more on the making of Hunter, the impending video shoot of Alarm Call by Alexander McQueen. And a small encounter Meester Fly had with some tasty geezers in Iceland and the art of driving.
Magga Stína? Naturally! [21.IX.98]
Magga Stína, the rebel from "Reptile", is the first artist to be released on miss B's Ear label. The album is naturally called 'An Album' and was released on the 21st of September in the UK. Check out Magga Stína's website to find see what she's all about.
Dancer in the Dark?
Will Björk play a role in Lars Von Triers next film "Dancer in the Dark"? According to Meester Fly we can expect onehundredpercent confirmation of this in the next few days. Björk is in Denmark at the moment with poet Sjón discussing the proposed film. Until then we can read what NME have to say about it.
Michel Gondry picks up an award for Bacherolette.
Bacherolette picked up an award at the MTV's VMA, for the category of Best Art Direction, which was of course in the able hands of Michel Gondry. This is today a bit of old news as WebSense has been off-line for a number of days due to a line fault. The ever intruding Meester Fly wants just to point out that he was there, behind the scene. Old news, but why not go down memory lane.
The UK release of Hunter confirmed along with 3 concerts.
The release date of Hunter has been set as the 5th of October in the U.K. Björk will also be playing 3 concerts, the first one being on the 23rd of November in Manchester @ the Apollo, followed by Birmingham's Symphony Hall on the 27th and finally in London @ The Palladium on the 29th. The final tracklisting for the Hunter will be available really soon.
If Meester Fly's words are anything to go by, a behind the scenes special of the making of the Hunter video will be ready very soon as well.
And some of your questions have been answered?
The UI-team and Meester Fly met Björk @ the Waterfestival In Sweden, loaded with question from all over the world! Did they loose the questions, lost their bottle and nerve, did they get through "awrigth"? Let's follow our senses ...
Do you have any questions? Why not ask?
Meester Fly has been having secret meetings with the Ultimate Intimate team, the people behind Björk's no. 1 fan site, The Ultimate Intimate. What are they up to? What plans are being e-mailed trough the fiber optic wire? Read Meester Fly's letter.
All is full of love between Björk and :funkstörung.
And the fruits of that labour will be out on fatcat records in late August. But for Grapewire readers you can now order your copy of this limited release through the TeePee. To read more about this 12" vinyl, here is the press release.
The US concert series finished on 23rd of May in Los Angeles.
The next phase will be the European Festival circuit which will take Björk and her entourage to 14 countries, and that is including Japan. (Obviously not a European Festival gig) The South American have been confirmed and can be found at the tour schedule.
Meester Fly's San Francisco fly-by
True to spirit, Meester Fly doesn't take yes for an answer, and flew out to Björk's San Francisco concert at the Warfield Theatre. On arrival he was so shaky that he couldn't fly straight, never mind aiming his camera in the right direction! Luckily he had made an appointment with a friend and photographer, Ted Grudowski, who saved the day and night for Meester Fly as he had his camera with him and duly documented the whole affair. Mr. Grudowski kindly offered Meester Fly his help, which was accepted.
The hunt for the Hunter video
Meester Fly was ofcourse one of the first few to have seen the finished video to the song made by these darlings at Meco. He's still stunned and buzzed by it and describes it as, well, the rest of us can judge for ourselves, but a making of and behind the scenes special by Meester Fly is underway. The video should be hitting the TV-screens any day now.
Alarm Call and Hunter singles release dates still foggy as hell
Plans for Alarm Call as the next single have been scrapped for the time being. Reasons: "C'est La Vie!" But the next single will be Hunter. The release date of that will be different depending the country. But check the TeePee just in case it might turn up there earlier. Just hang in there.
Hunting Mulder and Scully
The eerie mooovie The X-Files has an exceptional soundtrack. One of the excellent tracks featured in it is the extraordinary Hunter. Check out their extravagant website.

WebSense is a work in continuous progress. If you feel that something should be here, and isn´t, drop us some e-mail. If you feel that something in here shouldn´t be in here, drop us some e-mail. If you feel that something in here should be in here, than, that´s pretty good isn´t it?You can still drop us e-mail and tell us why you like it.
But please don't send us email, asking about tour details, like where to get tickets and about cities not mentioned on the Tour schedule. We don't know any more than you do! (after you read the tour schedule, that is to say)
