Totally Acoustic at the Union Chapel [10.XII.99]
Last night Björk and the Brodsky Quartet played their first concert of two in London at the Union Chapel.
It was quiet as it was acoustic, no microphone was used for amplification either for the strings or voice.
You could hear every sneeze and every needle drop in the chapel. These concerts are certainly unique. Have a peak and see what the chapel looked like last night..
Amphibian ready for mp3 download [30.XI.99]
Meester Fly ''is ever so proud of himself for being able to encode the Mark Bell Mix of Amphibian, despite some strange letters which at times were quite un-nerving for him, as they belittled him and his know-how of technology. He did though get words of encouragement from all over, even Norway! :) ''
Now the song is ready, the rest will be history!
First two winners of Volumen DVD competition [30.XI.99]
The first two winners of the Volumen competition have been drawn out of the digital data pool.

If you have not yet entered you still can join, go ahead...but no need if you already have entered the competition your first and only entry is still valid.

And to get some more excitement going! Meester Fly has got his mittens on a different version of Amphibian.
This mix will be available from this site in the coming week, (or a soon as our Meester Fly masters the technology of 3pm!!! as he calls it.)
So stay buzzed and tuned to the Grapewire.
And while we are on the subject, don't forget the Flying Volumen Competition !
The Flying Volumen DVD Competition is about to take off
[9.XI.99]
Finally has Meester Fly pulled his hands from under his wings, and decided to launch his long promised Volumen DVD competition.
The competition is dead easy, well fits Meester Fly's intellectual capacity, with easy questions. And what is there to win? There will be five autographed Volumen DVD's up for grabs and the dot over the 'I' , is a trip to Iceland with Icelandair.
Every week until the close of the competition we will be picking one entry out, and those will get the autographed Volumen DVD. The culmination of the competition is on the 15th of December 1999 and on the 20th of December the grand winner of the trip to Iceland with Icelandair will be announced.

Finally! Are they back...! Or what!? [9.IX.99]
It looks like the mad/late webcarpenters of WebSense are back, finally, from their hybernation. Just aswell, Björk has finished her movie with Lars von Trier. The work for the movie has taken in total more than a year to complete. - So Björk is back aswell! :) This not only included the acting but also making the music to the movie. For those in the know, are speechless about the movie. They only can mutter: 'Brilliant'.
Our bee-ing in the know will be completing a small travelogue from the set any day now. This collage here on the right is from the trip. ->
As things have gone to a quieter state of bee-ing, we propose to launch the promised Volumen competition as the prizes have been finalised and we are expecting a trip to Iceland to be one of the prizes. But before that Björk will be doing an on-line chat in the next 10 days, similiar to the one earlier.(earlier? it was in December '98) So we are hoping for a little bit more of some web-action.
A lot of speculation has risen regarding a NewYearsEve concert in Reykjavik. This is NOT a Björk Millenium Concert in Reykjavik.
At this point this is the information we can share with you was issued in a press release:
She will be performing with an pan-european choir and orchestra as part of the "Voices of Europe 2000" concert. Björk will perform three songs, it's yet unclear exactly what these songs will be - Björk songs or traditional. Björk s participation in this event is one small part of a larger performance and this should not in any way be perceived as being a either a Björk Concert or Event.
This concert will be filmed by the BBC and one of the three Björk songs will be broadcast as part of the BBC's Millenium Music programming.
This event is open to invitation only.
This concert will tour next year through European Cities of Culture. The proposed, but as yet unconfirmed, dates are as follows:
1999
REYKJAVIK -> Friday 31-Dec-99
2000
REYKJAVIK ->Saturday 26-Aug.
REYKJAVIK->Sunday 27-Aug .
BRUSSELS ->Tuesday 29-Aug .
HELSINKI ->Thursday 31-August .
KRAKOW ->Sunday 3-Sept .
AVIGNON ->Tuesday 5-Sept .
BOLOGNA -> Thursday 7-Sept .
COMPOSTELA -> Sunday 10-Sept.
BERGEN ->Tuesday 12-Sept.
This infomation will be updated as soon as more information is available.
Those interested in Reykjavik being one of Europe's cities of Culture in 2000 visit their site.
Delay of the All is full of Love Box sets [14.VI.99]
- STOP PRESS - The All is full of Love Box Sets will be delayed due to problems in manufacturing. The new release date for the Box Set is now set for July the 5th.
One Little Indian offers its sincere apologies for this unfortunate delay.
How the FX of All is full Of Love were done [8.VI.99]
The FX loaded All is Full of Love video are the feature in an extensive article. Read and see all about how the visual effects were created at VFXPro .
The Meester Fly competition is about to be completed and launched, a bit later than expected, but what the heck! As long as it happens! :)
Volumen DVD released and
competition [17.V.99]
On the 31st of May Volumen will released in the UK as a DVD. The NTSC version has been released and now is the time for the PAL- region 0. A special cinema screening is planned in London at the end of the month of the Volumen, Alarm Call and All is Full Of Love videos in honour of the video directors who have made Björk's videos so remarkable. Some of the directors (at least Sophie Muller, Chris Cunningham, Paul White, Alexander McQueen, Stephane Sednaoui) will attend the screening along with Björk. She will be taking a very short brake from the filming of the movie Dancer in the Dark.
Meester Fly has also taken a break from his world tour and will be shooting some (quiet) stills at the event. He is also planning a competition to coincide with this screening and with prizes unparalleled in his life time. So be warned watch this spot for further details!But until then, get your mittens around the Volumen DVD from the Teepee!
All is Full of Love Finally (nearly) in your hands! [10.V.99]
All is full of love is now available for advance ordering through the Teepee. Advance orders are now taken for the 2 x12", 2 x CD singles, the BoxSet singles with video both PAL and NTSC format and now for the first time the DVD single. These will be shipped as soon as they get out of production.
Have some retail therapy! And feel better! :) follow here...
All is Full of Love is in the Pipes! [22.IV.99]
The video for All is Full of Love has arrived in the wake of Meester Fly. The video is available as a special Meester Fly Presentation, he has a habit of trying to take all the credit for anything and everything. We know though that the video was directed by Chris Cunningham.
It is with the greatest pleasure that we now can cast our eyes on this masterpiece.
A small set back is though in the release of the single in the UK, as it has been moved back to the beginning of June. And for the first time, a DVD version will be made of this single. The sign of the times. Box Set release is also penned in for this release as all the other single releases for this album have been.
Meester Fly has also failed the audition as an extra in the movie Dancer in the Dark, even though he thinks himself as movie star handsome. Which means that he has left Ms. B grinning away, happy as pig in shit in Hamlet's old Kingdom.
Love, mixunderstanding and IRC/Chat!
[18.III.99]
An apology is in order from the mad webcarpenters @ WebSense, as they made a mistake in naming the mix to which the All is Full of Love was shot to. It is not Bell/Bradfield mix, but non other than a Mark 'Spike' Stent mix. Meester Fly has gracefully agreed to show another picture from the video shoot as compensation, and having seen it his only comment: "Video is spectacular, truly a work of art!". We should be seeing it here on WebSense within the next couple of weeks.
The webcarpenters have also come to the conclusion to activate the IRC/chat channel http: irc.bjork.com which you can access through a browser or through your normal IRC client and connect to irc.bjork.com .
This should be a welcomed chance to have an active and interesting chat channel for all of us.
And as a matter of interest, then FatCat Records, have put their new site on line, http: www.fat-cat.co.uk. They can be best remembered for the most progressive record shop in London and it was featured in the South Bank Show on Björk. Go there if you are in search of new and exciting music.
And let us not forget Meester Fly's input into the equation.
LOVE arrives later! [03.III.99]
A small delay with filling our ears with love, as the UK release date of All is Full of Love is brought back by two weeks to the 17th of May. The big question is how many formats it will appear as (or in). The 3 CD format we know so well in the UK and possibly the now standard Homogenic singles Box Set. And speaking of All is full of Love. The FatCatRecords release of that song with : funkstörung and Björk are now both available again from the TeePee as a CD single and a vinyl 12" for those still missing these.
The video to All is Full of Love was shot to the mix by Andy Bradfield and Mark Bell, and has not been heard yet. All in due time!
All is full of Love in May and live action from Reykjavík. [19.II.99]
All is full of Love will be released on May 2nd 1999. The shooting of the video for the song by Chris Cunningham has been completed. Meester Fly sneakily snuck in and managed take some photos, and the video is, well we will just have to wait and see a little bit longer. And stay constantly on the grapewire.
GusGus, Sigur Rós and grindverk are playing live in Aircrafthangar#4 at Reykjavik Airport on Saturday 20th of February, tomorrow. It will be webcast so all you hipsters and non, can tune in here or here, can't decide.
FatCatRecords moguls Alex and Dave will provide sounds in between acts.
grindverk hopes for gesundheit for everyone. [04.II.99]
Two former Sugarcubes break their 5 years international silence with their new band grindverk. They have just released a spanking new 12" through FatCat. Described as 'dance music for those who can not dance', it obviously appeals to more than one. Here is more!
Sjón & Baldur release Cinnamon Doves. [14.I.99]
The man of many words has released Cinnamon Doves upon us. Björk's longtime collaborator Sjón has released a CD in conjunction with his book 'Myrkar Fígúrur'. This piece of work was done with Baldur J. Baldursson at OZ.com Studios. They recently played as guests at Björk's Reykjavik shows. Their music can be described as ambient and surely pure brilliance!! You can make your own mind up by getting the CD, or find out more. Go ahead....
1999 kicks off with All is Full of Love. [10.I.99]
Björk will release All is Full of Love as a single in the next few months. A definite release date has not been set, but a new video to the song will be shot in 10 ten days time in London. The video director for this clip will be none other than Chris Cunningham, who was responsible for groundbreaking videos for Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Leftfield. So we can expect some stunning new stuff very soon.
Meester Fly did his best to secure a webcast of the Reykjavik shows, but the decision was made not to webcast these shows, but rather do a special webcast at a later day. A webcast which will be specially devised for the Net. What that will be and how that will be remains to be seen!
Meester Fly still hasn't processed his films of the Cambridge show and the Reykjavik one, but if he gets his buzzing bottom together we might see some stills in the next few days here on the Grapewire. Everybody now: Meester Fly, get your act together!
What was on the Grapewire: |

WebSense is a work in continuous progress. If you feel that something should be here, and isn«t, drop us some e-mail. If you feel that something in here shouldn«t be in here, drop us some e-mail. If you feel that something in here should be in here, than, that«s pretty good isn«t it?You can still drop us e-mail and tell us why you like it.
But please don't send us email, asking about tour details, like where to get tickets and about cities not mentioned on the Tour schedule. We don't know any more than you do! (after you read the tour schedule, that is to say)
